NIOSH (National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health) approved for formaldehyde and certain organic vapor protection. Designed for use with 3M™ 6000, 7000, and FF-400 series half-mask and full-facepiece respirators (with a cartridge-style filter holder).

Suitable for a variety of applications including laboratories, woodworking, carpet manufacturing, and primary metal manufacturing. When properly installed, the filters can be used for concentrations up to 10 times the permissible exposure limit (PEL) of formaldehyde and certain organic vapors in half-mask use, and up to 50 times the PEL in full-facepiece use. Full-facepiece respirators must undergo quantitative fit testing and achieve a fit factor of 10 or greater in negative pressure mode. It should not be used in IDLH (Immediately Dangerous to Life or Health) environments. Per OSHA requirements, when used for formaldehyde protection, the respirator must be equipped with a half-mask facepiece and a tight-fitting chemical goggles.
